PPP: Peter & Paul

Reflection/Reaction
After yesterdays discussion with Lee from Peter & Paul we were feeling pretty deflated and confused. On one hand it was too good of an opportunity to pass, but on the other hand neither of us can physically afford to work for free over summer, both of us require somewhere to live with our tenancies running out at the end of June before we even start work, and none of us live remotely close to Sheffield which puts us in an awkward position...

We both spoke to our parents to ask for their guidance and we're still weighing up if it's worth the expense and physical effort to give them a service for free as well as us paying to actually complete it.

John is amazing in situations like this and can throw up solutions we'd never think of so we dropped him an email and met up for a little chat. John came up with a couple of ideas for us;

One
We contact university halls of residence in Sheffield and discuss short term summer rental with them and possibly ask Peter & Paul to foot the bill as opposed to travel expenses. We worked out it'll cost £15 a day return each, which equates to £75 a week each. If we can find accomodation around this number we could propose paying for rent instead of travel. However this still leaves us with the problem of everyday living costs such as food which currently costs me around £50 a week.

Two
Enquire about some form of job seekers allowance because we will be technically unemployed and might be entitled to some form of money on a weekly basis. (This is a long shot)
